Get Your Tech OnTeachers looking to build their digital classrooms this fall have an easy way to “get their tech on.” PBS LearningMedia, the free service that provides more than 30,000 digital resources to connect students and educators, has kicked off a new effort to help today’s teachers use digital technology and resources in their classrooms. Through November 1, educators can participate in “Get Your Tech On,” utilizing PBS LearningMedia’s free resource collections and taking advantage of professional development opportunities, including free webinars and whitepapers. Teachers can also enter to win tablets to help enhance digital learning. The webinars are offered weekly from September 30 through October 21, and include “Get Your Tech On”: PBS LearningMedia 101Let’s Get Social! How to Effectively Incorporate Social Media Into Your ClassroomFlipped Classrooms For Real Learning: Definitions, Resources and Tools, and Plug In: How to Integrate Tablets, Smart Phones, Devices & More. Over one million teachers have already registered to use PBS LearningMedia’s award-winning service, accessing the free content from PBS programs and organizations including The National Archives Smithsonian, NPR and NASA. As the 2013-2014 school year moves into full swing, teachers have even more ways to “get their tech on” and prepare students for tomorrow.
