With the push toward 1:1 computing and BYOD in schools, educators are looking for easy to use tools that help put these devices to use in the classroom. The free Epson iProjection app is such a tool. It allows educators and students to wirelessly display documents and photos on Epson projectors, providing a collaborative classroom environment. Educators can download the iProjection app to display content from their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Android smartphones, and tablets. The app also allows users to access files through the cloud, offering the ability to display documents and files not residing on mobile devices and is compatible with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Apple Keynote, Adobe PDF, JPEG and PNG image files, as well as cloud services such as Dropbox and email applications such as Gmail. Districts implementing 1:1 initiatives can allow students to “take control of presentations” to display information from their own devices, thus allowing collaborative learning on the fly. For instance, in classrooms doing small group investigations, a student can share a specific data point with the entire class from his or her mobile device with iProjection. Download the app from iTunes or Google play.
