Net Texts, the free, web-based classroom teaching aid that connects educators to a vast library of innovative, high-quality open educational resources (OER), has partnered with Gooru, a free personalized learning platform that enables teachers to find, remix, and share collections of K-12 web resources. All of the content indexed in Gooru’s Learning Catalog is now integrated into Net Texts’ OER library. The Gooru Learning Catalog features 70,000 different collections contributed by other educators, content tagged to Common Core State Standards, and 15 digital libraries created by districts and organizations such as the National Geographic’s Geo-Educator Community. Now, through a Gooru-specific search function, Net Texts users can gather as much Gooru indexed content as they wish without leaving the Net Texts site. This integration allows users to take advantage of the Gooru content and the Net Texts’ offline syncing feature. Net Texts currently hosts more than 100,000 OER from trusted providers like Curriki and Khan Academy, as well as from top colleges and universities, such as Princeton and Stanford. In addition to these free materials, Net Texts offers original content in the form of more than 1,000 ready-to-use courses. Whether replacing textbooks or supplementing existing lesson plans, these courses provide easy-to-implement content solutions for 1:1 computing programs, blended learning environments, flipped classrooms, and traditional classrooms looking to infuse more technology into core content areas.
